Early last March, while at home in Sunol,
I got a letter from Jackson Hole.
Adrienne Brown had written to me.
My bio in Science Connection did see.
She said it was during one hellacious squall
Into her hands my name did fall,
And in her brain was a loud clicking sound,
I’ve heard that name back in Hanover town.
One hell of a woman, I says to me,
Loves to go hiking, go climbing, and ski,
Canoes the white water of east and of west,
Sings every week at a local song fest.
So I fired a missive out on internet,
In hopes my reply would quickly there get,
Our friendship blossomed by net, phone, and mail,
Hearing thoughts and dreams in lots of detail.
She came to California and I to Jackson Hole
We hiked the Sierras, explored each other’s soul,
Canoed the Green River through Canyonlands Park,
Sang by the fire, gazed at stars in the dark.
Oh Adrienne Brown, how much I love you,
Your wit, sense of humor, your spirit of can do,
Your nurturing, caring and sensuous soul,
Your smile that melts me and makes me feel whole.
So Adrienne I have a question for thee,
Would you be willing to marry me,
Early next summer and not far from here,
With all our friends and lots of warm cheer?
Oh yes darling Peter, that would I do,
Spend the rest of my life with you,
Travel together and gaze into your eyes,
For the rest of our life to harmonize.
Oh yes my darling, that would I do,
Spend the rest of my life with you,
Travel together and gaze into your eyes,
For the rest of our life to harmonize.
